This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect. Please contact the project leader, add categories to your profiles, add your questions to the bulletin board, add details of your name research, etc.

I hope to create the basis of a good profile and foundation. It will be a living memory of all of our ancestors. We the descendants must carry on the good work and do our family name proud. There is a coat of arms that was presented to our family. In was approximately ,840 AD I would welcome any person whom would like to join me. In the beginning of my search into my family tree, I was told it all began with my Great Grandmother whom had Voyaged and emigrated with her brother from Ireland to Australia.

In the beginning of my family tree research, I was drawn as I mentioned earlier to my Great Grandmother whom had Voyager from Ireland to Australia in approximately 1855. She was in the company of her brother, John Henry Gillman and her name was Helena Harriet St Leger Gillman. The St Leger name was the name of a knighthood in the family. It is unclear if the vessel was an assisted or unassisted through Government at the time. She was one of the daughters of Herbert Gillman and Mary Gillman.
